Dave Weld &

The Imperial Flames

From 1976 through 1977, Dave Weld (Chicago) performed on Chicago's Southside with Hound Dog Taylor's Houserockers, his first pro gig! During 1978-79 Weld played at the legendary 1815 Club with Howlin Wolf's band.

During those years, he was mentored by Hall of Fame blues man and Grammy winner, JB Hutto. Then Weld became founding member of Little Ed and the Blues Imperials and they recorded for Alligator.

In 1988 Weld started Dave Weld and the Imperial Flames, and recorded for Blues Sting, then Earwig, and now has two world famous Delmark CD's under his belt, with "Slip into a Dream", receiving critical acclaim, rave reviews in every blues magazine in the world, and "Rock Blues album of 2016", Blues Blast 2106 Music Awards!!

"This is killer, veteran all-star real-deal Chicago blues band at its house rockin' best...one of the hardest-working, longest-running and most talented, cohesive Chicago blues bands around".
